Pretty neat huh?
I was lucky enough to score a couple of soaps from ANSC and I tell ya what .. they’re beautiful.
When they arrived, I opened the package and was hit with a waft of essential oil aroma from my ‘shampoo bar‘. Infused with mandarin and patchouli oil the shampoo bar is able to cleanse and moisturize an irritated, dry and flaky scalp without stripping the hair and scalps natural oils. Using the shampoo bar is a little strange; purely due to the fact I am so conditioned to using liquid-soap shampoos. It took me a minute to be able to get an adequate amount of soap to cover my long hair to be able to wash it efficiently but I got it in the end. One of the things you will notice when using this shampoo soap is that it doesn’t lather like a liquid-shampoo will – which is actually good, because it means it isn’t removing all of your natural goodness from your hair. Afterwards, my hair felt beautifully clean and my scalp felt fresh and relaxed. My scalp is very troublesome especially going into winter. I’ve used it 4 times now and this shampoo-bar has definitely helped and as an added bonus, in a hot and steamy shower, the essential oil aroma that fills the bathroom makes you feel like you are in a luxury spa 😉
I also got the ‘activated charcoal soap‘ which is perfect as a facial cleanser. I used the bar directly on my wet face, then lathered it up enough to be able to wash, then I left it for about 30 sec to a minute to let it dry, similar to a mask before gently washing and wiping away with fresh water. My skin felt so cleansed and fresh afterwards.
All in all, The Australian Natural Soap Co has philosophies and products I am happy to stand behind. I have my eye on some of their gift packs including their ‘Beard Box’ for a certain beardy-someone and ‘The Deluxe Gift Pack’ for Mothers Day for some special females in my life.
